Powerful Machining Capabilities

The new BobCAM system offers associative toolpaths, easy 2D & 3D feature selection. Powerful NC Simulation and NC editing features that allow you to get the CNC machining process faster and easier!

2D Machine Toolpath

The new BobCAM system allows you to use all of our fully associative 2D machining toolpaths directly off the model within SolidWorks. This includes pocketing, profiling and hole drilling operations.

2D High-speed Machining

The new high-speed pocketing utilises the idea of a constant material removal rate to eliminate excessive tool engagement particularly in corners and movements from one footpath to another. What this means is that the tool feeds and speeds can be dramatically increased, depths of cuts can be increased and tool wear can be minimised.

3D Machine Toolpath

Complex footpath operations are easily created that allow you to machine difficult models with ease! The BobCAM PRO option gives you a substantial advantage in 3D Machining Technology! Advanced 3D toolpath & machine features allow you to reduce cycle times and produce a higher quality finished part. Added features include:

• Advanced Roughing - adding the following new functionality to the BobCAM system:
  • Optimised toolpath for open areas and core roughing that includes a Rest Roughing strategy for optimised removal of material in areas larger tools could not enter.
  • Intermediate slices can be made to remove large "stair step" effect to decrease amount of material that needs removed by semi-finishing and finishing operations.
• Flatlands Machining - This toolpath automatically locates all flat areas on the model and creates an optimised toolpath for semi-finishing or finishing of the flat floors.
• Equidistant Offset - This toolpath strategy creates a constant cusp along the model, regardless of surface complexity. This offers the user a superior finish.
• Pencil Milling - This strategy can be used to trace around internal corners and fillets to improve surface finish.

BobCAM includes RS232 & DNC capabilities. Post-processors are free and available for creating all of your G-code programs.
